We are looking for an entrepreneurial, dynamic and motivated supervisor with a strong catering background for our food to go and sandwich bar

The successful candidate must be able demonstrate their ability to prepare and sell food, using their initiative and catering experience to maximise sales.

OBJECTIVES

To maximise the sales and profitability of the Food to Go department by ensuring that the overall sales and financial targets are achieved

To minimise the waste within the Food to Go department. Ensuring stock and order cards are used effectively and efficiently. Making sure waste control reporting is strictly adhered to

To assist the Branch Manager in successfully developing and leading the Food to Go team ensuring that maximum potential is achieved

To ensure the Company's agreed Food to Go Product Range is being adhered to, to guarantee a standard range throughout

To ensure all H&S and Company controls are being adhered to within the Food to Go Department

To ensure the integrity of the Company's corporate image by the maintenance of operating standards and controls

1. RESPONSIBILITY

Main functional responsibilities are as follows:-

SALES & PROFITABILITY

To maximise the sales potential and profitability of the Food to Go Department

KEY ACTIVITIES

Develop and maintain a comprehensive product knowledge for both yourself and your team

Ensure that the agreed product range is readily available in store at appropriate times in order to maximise sales potential

Ensure selling techniques are used correctly and the opportunities for additional sales are maximised

Make every effort to ensure that maximum sales are achieved from sales promotions and availability

Ensure that all customer complaints are reported to the Branch Manager for investigation and ensure that any remedial action required is efficiently and effectively implemented

Assist the Branch Manager in controlling variable costs within the targets set

In conjunction with the Branch Manager identify and develop opportunities for the growth of the businesses and ensure these are communicated effectively to your team

PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

Evidence that you are achieving this will include:-

Demonstrate an up-to-date knowledge of all products sold

A full product range is available at all times as appropriate

Sales, wastage and control targets achieved

Able to demonstrate the correct procedure for dealing with customer complaints

Variable costs are controlled within targets set

2. MERCHANDISING AND HOUSEKEEPING

Ensure that the first impression created to prospective customers is of quality merchandising in a quality environment

Ensuring there is a good visual impact in the areas of Food to Go products including, Hot Hold Units, Chilled Units and Salad Bars where applicable

KEY ACTIVITIES

To maintain visual impact of internal displays through effective replenishment of hot and cold foods

To ensure that standards of Housekeeping are maintained in accordance with Company Procedure on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, this includes hygiene controls and control of stored products

PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

Evidence that you are achieving this will include:-

The department operates to Company procedures

Visual impact is of a consistently good standard for the Hot Hold, Chilled Unit and Salad Bars where applicable

Relevant Health and Safety controls are maintained in the Food to Go department

To maintain the Company's integrity, all due diligence requirements are being met for auditing purposes

3. COMPANY OPERATING STANDARDS

To ensure that the Company operating standards for the Food to Go department are maintained

KEY ACTIVITIES

Ensure that the image of the Food to Go department meets a good standard, effective displays and cleanliness create a favourable impression

Ensure the Food to Go department is completing relevant Food to Go Company administration accurately and in a timely manner

Ensure that all goods delivered are thoroughly checked upon receipt and discrepancies reported immediately
Ensure that all relevant products are correctly packaged and date marked with regard to legislation

Ensure that all relevant products, once opened, are correctly packaged and where applicable marked with day-dot labels

Follow guidelines issued for Point Of Sale and Shelf Edge Labels

Ensure that the Food to Go department implements Company's Rules and Regulations at all times

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT

Evidence that you are achieving this will include:-

The Food to Go Department is clean, tidy and well maintained

Food to Go Assistants follow the dress code in line with Company and Health and Safety standards

Internal floor areas are clear, clean and tidy

Compliance to current promotional activity

Only Company issued notices displayed

Department administration is actioned as and when required

All discrepancies regarding goods received are reported immediately

All Company Rules and Regulations are adhered to at all times

4. LEGISLATION

Ensure that all legislation, including Food Hygiene, Health and Safety Law and Retail Law are adhered to where relevant and at all times.

KEY ACTIVITIES

Ensure that all legislative requirements are being met, liaising with Branch Manager relevant Head Office Personnel.

Identify any areas of non-compliance with relevant legislation within the business and communicate any issues to both the Branch Manager and Health and Safety and Training Co-ordinator, in order to ensure that remedial action is taken in a timely manner

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT

Evidence that you are achieving this will include:-

You as an individual operate within the law

The Food to Go Department within the Company operate within the relevant legislation

At all times, the Food to Go department is legislatively compliant

All current statutory notices are in place

5. DIRECT REPORTS – FOOD TO GO ASSISTANTS

To manage the Food to Go team ensuring that continually increasing standards of performance are met and that all employees are developed to meet the changing needs of the business

KEY ACTIVITIES

Ensure that the Branch Manager is aware if effective staff levels are not being maintained to meet customer service, availability and operational requirements

Where required, participate in interviews ensuring that they are carried out in accordance with the Company's Recruitment policy and procedure

Ensure induction training is completed in conjunction with the Branch Manager and relevant Head Office Personnel

Identify training needs on an on-going basis

Staff training is carried out in accordance with the Company's procedures

Communicate with employees on individual performance if required

PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

Evidence that you are achieving this will include:-

Company procedure regarding recruitment and selection are followed

Performance issues are resolved without delay and in line with Company procedures

6. SECURITY

To ensure the protection of the Company's stock

KEY ACTIVITIES

Maintain Company policies with regard to the security of premises and stock

Ensure that correct procedures are followed for the reporting of damage to Company property and theft of stock


PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

Evidence that you are achieving this will include:-

Stock results are kept to within budget

Any stock discrepancies are acted upon and resolved efficiently
